Buddhism commenced in India about 2600 years ago. After the buddha gained enlightenment at the age of 35, he spent 45 years sharing his teachings throughout north India. During his eighty years alive (and specifically after he gained enlightenment), many places became principal Buddhist sites, and today Buddhist pilgrimage destinations. We have tried to cover vital locations of Buddha in 9 days basically of northern part of India.

Day 1 Arrive Delhi
Meeting and assistance on arrival at the airport, our representatives welcome and escort you by a private car and transfer to the hotel, whilst the room keys and check-in is organized, our representative would hand over the documents and brief the tour programme to you. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 In Delhi [City Tour]– Board Overnight Train for Kushinagar
After breakfast take sightseeing tour of historic city visiting Old Delhi visiting the majestic Red Fort, a marvel in red sandstone, Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, both built by emperor Shah Jahan of Taj Mahal fame. Later sightseeing continues to visit New Delhi include Rashtrapati Bhawan, one-time imperial residence of the British viceroys; the India Gate, a memorial raised in honour of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war; Humayun’s Tomb, QutubMinar, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty; Night is in Delhi • Enjoy Rickshaw ride with visit of Old Delhi. In time you will be transferred to Delhi railway station to board overnight train for Kushinagar

Day 3 Arrive Kushinagar
On arrival at a railway station which is nearby Kushinagar you will be welcomed and will then drive to Kushinagar, where Lord Buddha expired at the age of 80. After fresh and change see the Mahaparinirvana Temple to see the reclining Buddha and Ramabhar Stupa where Buddha was cremated. Study the Nirvana Stupa and temple where Buddha’s ashes were buried. Night stay in Kushinagar • Go to see Mahaparinirvana Temple to watch reclining Buddha & Ramabhar Stupa.

Day 4 Kushinagar – Vaishali – Patna
Travel to Patna, pay a visit to Vaishali en route where Buddha addressed his last sermon and declared his approach to Nirvana. See the Lion Pillar raised by the Emperor Ashoka to mark this important event. You will also watch the Relics Stupa and Ramkund here. Visit Vaishali Museum and stop at the World Peace Pagoda constructed by Japanese Buddhists. • Visit of Vaishali Museum and World Peace Pagoda

Day 5 Patna – Nalanda – Rajgir – Bodhgaya
Depart for Bodhgaya. Visit Great Stupa at Nalanda en route and also the town of Rajgir to explore the Lakshmi Narayan temple and the Japanese Shanti Stupa temple. Restart to Bodhgaya, where over 2,500 years ago, Buddha achieved enlightenment under the holy Mahabodhi tree after a long period of meditation. • Visit of Mahabodhi Tree where Buddha got enlightment

Day 6 Bodhgaya
Explore the Maha Bodhi Temple and the Bodhi Tree where Buddha gained enlightenment. Discover Sujata Village, termed after a girl who gave milk to a starving Gautama on his way to Bodhgaya. Rest of the day is for leisure. Night stay is in BodhGaya

Day 7 Bodhgaya – Varanasi [ River Ganges ]
Carry on to one of the ancient and blessed Buddhist cities of the world, Varanasi. Be a spectator to the Puja ceremony of Ganga Aarti, a Hindu religious ritual held on the ghats of the River Ganges. • Watch stunning holy river Ganga Aarti celebrations. A site not to be missed

Day 8 Varanasi [River Ganges] - Sarnath - Varanasi
Take an early morning boat ride sideways the River Ganges, trailed by a city tour of Varanasi. Later this midafternoon visit the Buddhist places at Sarnath where Buddha conveyed his first sermon after getting enlightenment. In the evening, visit a bazaar and enjoy a rickshaw ride • Have Sarnath Excursion with optionally Rickshaw ride in Varanasi

Day 9 Varanasi – Depart
Day is for leisure and rest. Enjoy the day on your own. In time you will be transferred to Varanasi railway station / airport to board train / flight for onwards journey. Tour Ends • Enjoy your morning time in lively markets of Varanasi
